What is the confirmation statement?

The confirmation statement is a document that must be filed annually, providing Companies House with up-to-date information about your company. This package includes the preparation and filing of your first confirmation statement.

Please note: This service does not include the Companies House filing fee of £50.00. At the time of filing your first confirmation statement, we will take payment of £50.00 using your payment card details securely stored in your account.

This service is renewable annually at the cost of £75.99 (including £50 Companies House Fee).

How does the business telephone number work?

With this service, you’ll receive a London or regional landline telephone number, and all calls will be forwarded to a number of your choice. Many of our customers use this service to divert calls from a business landline telephone number to their mobile phone number, to enhance their company’s corporate image.

Within 1 working day of your company being formed, we will email you to set up your business telephone number.

Can I reserve my company name without forming a company?

Accepted Answer

No. You need to register a limited company using your desired company name to reserve the name and stop anyone else from using it.

Companies House will not allow anyone else to set up a company with a name that is ‘the same as’ or ‘too similar’ to an existing company name.

Are there any hidden costs?

Accepted Answer

No, there are no hidden costs when registering a company with 1st Fornations. The total cost is the package price shown. This excludes the £100 Companies House Fee (not subject to VAT).

All of the items included are a one-off payment, with no need for renewal, with the exception of the Confirmation Statement Service, which is renewable annually as detailed in the Digital Package description.

What do I need to form a company?

Accepted Answer

Incorporating a limited company online is simple. No documents or signatures are required; however, you will need the following:

One director and one shareholder (the same person can assume both positions).
A registered office address.
At least one share issued.

How long will it take to complete the company registration process?

Accepted Answer

It will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete our online application form. We will then contact you to complete ID checks required for relevant people such as directors, shareholders and the customer.

Upon completion of these checks, we will send the application to Companies House, which will usually take less than 24 hours to approve a company - although this period is dependent on Companies House workload, and sometimes it can take longer.

If it is important that your company is formed quickly, we provide a Same-Day Incorporation Service for £79.99, which can be purchased at checkout with any package. This service is available until 12 noon GMT, Monday-Friday. Incorporation on the same day is dependent on us receiving all relevant ID information for the company by 2pm of the same day, and we are not liable where we are not provided with the required information by this time.

Do I need to supply proof of ID?

As a company formation agent, we are legally required to verify the identity of all customers, company directors, and persons with significant control (PSCs).

Once your order has been submitted, we will send personalised links to your email. These links will allow you and any other relevant individuals to upload your proof of ID securely. The process is quick and straightforward, usually taking just a few minutes to complete, and is free of charge. You can read more about our ID Requirements here

What is a limited company?

A limited company is a legal entity which exists separately from its owners. It is managed by directors and owned by shareholders.

The owners' financial liability is limited to the value of the shares they own in the company.

Question 10

How do I open a business bank account?

Accepted Answer

During the company formation order process, you will be asked to select a business bank account referral from up to 7 of our banking partners, including Barclays, NatWest, Monzo, Tide and Lloyds.

Once Companies House has accepted your company application, your chosen bank will contact you directly so you can open your business bank account.

All business bank accounts are subject to approval.

Is the Digital Package renewable?

Yes, part of the Digital Package - the Confirmation Statement Service is renewable annually. We will email you at the end of the first year to remind you of the renewal.
